Babatunji Ayotunde Fabamigbe

Mr. Fabamigbe is an accomplished banker with over 15 years of experience in different sectors of the financial industry. He rose to Deputy-General Manager and Head, Maritime Group of Guaranty Trust Bank Plc before his retirement in 2014.

Mr. Fabamigbe graduated from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and advanced his education in Business Administration at the Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, United Kingdom in 2011. He started his career with the Financial Control Unit of Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, where he was responsible for management & regulatory reporting, tax management and audit. He later moved to the Energy Group of the bank in 2004 to take higher responsibilities and nurture the Downstream Oil and Gas business of the bank. He joined Stanbic IBTC Bank in 2006 as the head of Downstream, Power and Energy Group before he was seconded to the Standard Bank Group in 2008 and then moved to the Standard Bank Group’s head office in South Africa for about 2 years to improve his understanding of the group’s business structure.

He returned to Guaranty Trust Bank in 2012 to head the Maritime Group of the Bank with the mandate to harness the growing opportunities in the sector before his retirement in 2014 to commence his own business. Mr. Fabamigbe sits on the Board of several companies and brings his vast experience acquired in the financial industry to bear as a Non-Executive Director of Lukefield Finance Company Limited. Mr. Fabamigbe was the pioneer Managing Director of Lukefield Finance Company Limited for the first two years of the company, a role that he played diligently bringing the company into profitability in the second year of operations. He is the Chairman of the Board Credit Committee and Board Nomination & Governance Committee and also a member of the Board Assets and Liability Management Committee and Board Audit Committee.
