Mrs. Asupoto is an accomplished banker with over 30 years of experience in diverse areas of the financial industry. Mrs. Asupoto obtained her bachelor’s degree in Botany from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and later went on to obtain her Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Lagos in 1991. She commenced her career in 1992 in Fountain Trust Merchant Bank. She later joined Guaranty Trust Bank in 1993 in the Cash & Teller Department and was later promoted to Head, Credit Analysis/Credit Unit and Treasury Unit in 1996 where she then rose to become the Head of Domestic Operations in 1998. She thereafter moved to the Financial Control Unit of the Bank and was later appointed as the Financial Controller in 2002. In 2004, she joined the Administrative and Branch Development arm of the Bank where she introduced a cost management initiative that saw a reduction in the Bank’s cost to Income ratio by 50% and supervised the development of 87 bank branches in 5 years.

Mrs. Asupoto continued to showcase her expertise in the Bank up until December 2018 when she retired as the General Manager and Head of the Bank’s Operations Division. She also served on the Board of the Bank’s subsidiary in Guaranty Trust Bank Liberia as a Non-Executive Director, was a member of its Board Assets and Liabilities Committee and sat as Chairman of the Bank’s Board Credit Committee.

Mrs. Asupoto currently serves as Non-Executive Director in several companies in Nigeria and is currently the Managing Director of Lukefield Finance Company Limited where she brings her many years of banking experience into play. She is also a member of the Company’s Board Credit Committee and Board Assets & Liabilities Committee.

Mrs. Asupoto is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria as well as a member of the Institute Chartered Bankers of Nigeria.
